This documentation should be delivered to the secretariat of the center where the pre-registration was made.

  • Pre-registration receipt (document generated when doing online pre-registration).
  • Certified copy of the bachelor’s degree and of the master’s or postgraduate studies that give access to the doctoral program.
  • Certified copy of the academic certification (bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae.
  • Two letters of recommendation from two professors, one of whom will be the director of the thesis. The letter must indicate that he agrees to direct the thesis.
  • Accreditation of the level of English: or declaration of having the level of English sufficient to follow the formative activities of the program.

Requirements to access the program:

DOMAR is a transdisciplinary doctoral program that welcomes students of different degrees whose thesis projects are clearly focused on the marine environment. A good knowledge of English is recommended, which allows students to follow the courses of the doctoral program taught in English and to develop their complementary training activities: participation in congresses and workshops, publications in impact journals in their specialties, stays in foreign centers of recognized prestige.

The academic requirements to be able to access doctoral studies are:

  • In general, for access to an official doctoral program it will be necessary to hold the official Spanish titles of Degree, or equivalent, and of Master’s Degree (in the Spanish university system) or the equivalent degrees in the Portuguese university system.
  • Those who are in any of the following cases can also access:
    • Be in possession of an official Spanish university degree, or of another country member of the European Higher Education Area, that enables access to a Master’s Degree in accordance with the provisions of article 16 of Spanish Royal Decree 1393/2007, of October 29 and have passed a minimum of 300 ECTS credits in university studies, of which, at least 60, must be at the Master’s level. Cases included in the second additional provision of RD 99/2011 are considered:
      • Doctoral students who have started their doctoral program in accordance with previous university regulations may access the doctorate studies regulated in this royal decree upon admission of the corresponding university, in accordance with the provisions of this Spanish Royal Decree and the regulations of the university.
      • Graduates, Architects or Engineers who were in possession of a Diploma of Advanced Studies obtained in accordance with the provisions of Spanish Royal Decree 778/1998, of April 30, may be admitted to the doctoral studies regulated in this royal decree, if they have reached the investigative sufficiency regulated in Spanish Royal Decree 185/1985, of January 23.
    • In the case of students from the Portuguese education system: a) holders of a master degree or equivalent; b) holders of a bachelor’s degree, who have a particularly relevant academic or scientific curriculum and with a recognized ability to complete this cycle of studies by the statutory and competent scientific body of the university where they intend to be admitted; c) those who have a school, scientific or professional curriculum with recognized capacity for the completion of this cycle of studies by the legal and statutorily competent scientific body of the university where they intend to be admitted (as set out in Article 30 of the Law 107/2008)
    • Be in possession of an official Spanish bachelor’s degree certificate whose duration, according to community law standards, is at least 300 ECTS credits. These graduates must take compulsory training complements as referred to in Article 7.2 of this rule, unless the curriculum of the corresponding degree title includes credits for training in research, equivalent in training value to research credits from of Master’s studies.
    • University graduates who, after obtaining a place in training in the corresponding test of access to places of specialized health training, have passed with positive evaluation at least two years of training a program for obtaining the official title of any of the specialties in Health Sciences.
    • Be in possession of a degree approved by a foreign education system, without the need for homologation, after verification by the university of the certification of the official degree of the University Master and of the faculty in the issuing country of the degree for the access to doctoral studies. This admission will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the degree that gives access to the Doctoral courses.
    • Be in possession of another Spanish doctoral degree obtained according to previous university ordinations.
